There is a certain feeling in the air when October arrives.
Flags flutter along the streets, city lights glow after dark, and trains carry people home. Familiar accents and old hometown expressions fill the journey back, as some make their way home for a family reunion while others stay at work, keeping things moving for everyone else.
That is part of what National Day looks like.
From 1949 to 2026, 77 years have passed. Over those seven decades, cities have grown, technology has become part of everyday life, and places that once seemed far away have come closer than ever. We have seen the grandeur of the Great Wall, and we have also watched information cross mountains and oceans in seconds.
The world has changed in many ways. One thing has remained important: the ability to understand one another.
At Glodom, that idea is closely connected to what we do every day. A translation can help two people understand each other. A conversation can bring different cultures a little closer. Language and technology can help businesses, products, and ideas cross borders and reach new places.
That is why language has never been just about words.
Behind the words is meaning. Behind meaning is understanding. And behind understanding is the possibility of bringing people and cultures closer together.
As more Chinese companies expand into global markets and more technologies and products reach beyond China, we are grateful to be part of these journeys. Every project may start with language, but what matters is what that language makes possible.
Still, today, work can wait.
Maybe it is time to visit somewhere you have not been in years. To sit down for a meal with your family. To catch up with an old friend. Or simply to do nothing for a while and give yourself a little room to breathe.
There is always another task to finish, another message to answer, another place to be. A holiday gives us a rare chance to step away from all that and spend time with the people and things that matter.
Working hard matters. So does taking the time to live.
This National Day, we hope there will be time for familiar faces, good food, new views, and a little more breathing room. May there be peace across the country and warmth in every home. May every journey lead somewhere worth going, and may every effort find its meaning in time.
And may we always keep the curiosity and warmth to understand one another, stay connected, and keep reaching a little farther beyond our own horizons.
